Winnipeg ranked the least favourite city to visit by NHL players
ESPN published an NHL player poll this morning, revealing that Winnipeg is ranked players' least favourite city to visit.
Fifty players participated in the poll, however all of them answered anonymously.
With 42 per cent of the vote for being the worst road city, it's not surprising that some players had some not-so-nice feedback about the Northern city.
"Winnipeg. It's always cold. Tough rink to play in. It's just dirty — you walk around the city and feel like you need to wash your face after you go outside. So nothing about it is very exciting," one player said.
Some took to Twitter to express their disappointment in the poll.
The ESPN NHL player poll shows #Edmonton is the third most dreaded road trip destination among NHLers. However, while the weather may be frightful, the players find the visiting dressing room at Rogers Place to be delightful. It’s voted the best in the league among players. #yeg

But not all reviews were against Winnipeg. One player boasted that it's not so bad, thanks to the nearby casino.
According to an ESPN poll of 50 NHL players, Winnipeg is the road city they most dread visiting. I've seen a bunch of people who are offended by that, but isn't this a good thing? Don't we want other teams to hate playing here? - Jay pic.twitter.com/6js4DcNBh7

Some opinions were split on various factors. For example, Edmonton came in third in the ranks for worst road city, but it was also voted as having the best visiting dressing room.
