There’s really only a few places in Canada where you can find a home at the $8 million price point.

Not even our great capital city Ottawa has a house close to that price. It taps out at $5 million. That being said, maybe 24 Sussex Drive will be worth $8 million after those renovations? 

But for the few cities that do have an $8 million home on the market there’s a surprising amount of variation in what you can get. Sure, they're all luxury mansions but some are more luxurious than others.  

So here’s what an $8 million home looks like in cities across our country … well actually just in cities in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario. 

Toronto

Located in one of Toronto's more affluent suburbs is this four bedroom family home. The interior of the home is classic and stylish with the necessary luxury amenities like a wine cellar, pool and home theater.

Each bedroom has it's own en suite but the best part of this home is that it backs onto a ravine so it's super private.  

Calgary

Just outside of Calgary is this palatial country home. The five-bedroom home exudes luxury. The French-style estate boasts an indoor pool with a wet bar and kitchen, as well as a recording studio, RV pad, home theater and a wine cellar.

Vancouver

This four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Vancouver is relatively modest in comparison to the rest of the homes on this list. It has an East coast meets West vibe.

The exterior is almost Georgian in appearances but the interior is bright and open with cool loft style exposed beams and brick. 

Montreal

This mansion is quite modern in architecture, at least by Quebec standards. Located just opposite Murray Hill Park in the prosperous Westmount neighbourhood this home has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool and enough room to host a party of 100 guests.

Edmonton
