This is what a $3 million home looks like in cities across Canada
When something costs $3 million many would consider that luxury pricing, especially for a home. For $3 million, you might be inclined to expect a pretty swanky house or at least a place with a two-car garage.
And yet in some cities across Canada $3 million doesn't always mean a mansion with a pool. In fact, sometimes a $3 million home is kind of pedestrian.
Here's what a cool $3 million can get you in cities across Canada.
Sitting on 23 acres of land this uber modern minimalist mansion could be yours for the downright reasonable price of $3.2 million. The house has luxury features like 11-foot ceilings, huge windows with sweeping forest views, en suites and walk-ins for each bedroom, a nanny-suite and the largest pool.
This idyllic ravine bungalow is what realtors are talking about when they say "location, location, location". The property is gorgeous with plenty of trees and privacy but the house itself is a bit dated and in serious need of a renovation. You can't have everything.
This Upper Mount Royal six-bed, six-bath home is pretty luxurious with an in-ground pool, bespoke temperature controlled wine cellar and some spectacular views of the city and ravine. Plus being in the prestigious Upper Mount Royal neighbourhood has it perks too, like being close to great schools, downtown and The Glencoe Club.
You'd never guess this Winnipeg home is a new build. The five-bedroom single family home is located in Old Tuxedo area and has the charm of a renovated old Georgian home but the benefits of the finest 21st century construction.
This modest character home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is one of the nicer places at this price point. The Vancouver real estate market is unreal. The home was renovated in 2008 and has a good size backyard.
Part of the "Golden Square Mile Mansions" in Montreal this heritage home is stunning. The soaring ceilings, original stained glass windows and other period features throughout the home make my heart go pitter patter.
Saskatoon doesn't currently have a house that tops $3 million but this five-bedroom stunner comes really close at $2.995 million. The best part of this house are the beautiful views of South Saskatchewan River, which can be enjoyed from every room in the house.
This home isn't exactly $3 million but St. Johns caps out at $2.7 million unless you're buying huge swaths of land. Either way this three-storey home is right next to Memorial University and is traditional in design. It's also sitting on about 3/4 acres of land.
