Since March 15, a staggering 3.67 million Canadians have applied for some form of financial assistance, including through the CERB or Employment Insurance.
The government says that it has already processed just over three million claims.
Despite the astonishing number of applications, the CERB still leaves out a few groups, including many students, gig workers and volunteer firefighters — but Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that the government will introduce measures to help those groups soon.
The government is asking Canadians born in the months of April, May and June that need financial assistance to apply for CERB online today.
