This will mark the first time since he was first elected as Prime Minister in 2015 where Trudeau won't be costumed while taking his kids trick or treating.
In the past, Trudeau has made a point of dressing up and really getting into the Halloween spirit. In 2017, he famously went as Clark Kent.

Previously he's gone as Han Solo, with the rest of his family also dressed up like Star Wars characters.

And just last year, he went as Sherlock Holmes.

Of course, the giant elephant in the room is why he's not dressing up this year. Just last month, it was revealed that Trudeau had dressed up in blackface at a party in 2001.
Not only did he dress up in blackface that one time, it was revealed the next day that he didn't know how many times he's done blackface.

It's probably for the best he ended up sitting this year out.
