Riverdale shuts down filming of season 5 in Canada because of COVID
Bad news, Riverdale fans; the TV show has reportedly shut down filming once again in Vancouver, allegedly due to delays in processing COVID-19 tests this time.
The good news? It's probably only temporary.
One source says that there is a single lab company in B.C. approved to oversee COVID-19 testing, and that lab is now prioritizing schools and local businesses.
Once B.C. can meet the demand for testing, things should presumably be up-and-running once more.
The news of the delay comes just a few weeks after Riverdale stars began shooting Season 5 of the popular TV show, successfully completing their mandatory 14-day quarantines.
The cast members were being regularly tested for COVID-19, getting nasal swabs about three times a week.
As our second week of #Riverdale wraps, a look back some of what we shot, including this priceless scene. Betty with a knife, Reggie in leather, and Cheryl in a wig. Yes, folks, itβs another quiet night in the Town with Pep...π₯πππ»π ππβ οΈπ pic.twitter.com/eKIZ58OVuH

Riverdale isn't the only production affected by the delay in testing in B.C.; filming for Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl is also reportedly on hold.
