The cast of Riverdale is returning to Canada to film season 5
Riverdale fans rejoice! The cast of your favourite teen drama series is coming back to Canada to resume filming.
On Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Falon, actress Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on the show, announced that she and the rest of the cast will be making their way to Vancouver in the next few days to finish the remainder of season four and begin season five.
"We stopped in the middle of an episode, so when we go back, we have to finish three days of one episode we were filming in March," she said, adding that viewers may be able to notice a slight difference in her appearance.
Of course, as per B.C.'s COVID-19 rules and regulations, Reinhart and her co-stars will have to quarantine for 14 days before any work on the show can begin.
"I have to quarantine for two weeks but then were are starting our season five," she said.
The hit show is filmed mainly in Metro Vancouver with its studio located in Langley, B.C.
If you're from the area, you might recognize some key Riverdale buildings like Archie's house, which is in the Strathcona neighbourhood, Veronica's house, which is actually the Permanent (a heritage building that used to be a bank), or Betty's house which is in the Queen's Park neighbourhood.
There's also the infamous Sweetwater River which is actually Alouette Lake in Maple Ridge.
Other cast members including KJ Apa (Archie), Cole Sprouse (Jughead), Camila Mendes (Veronica), and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl) have often been spotted around town.
Reinhart also told host Jimmy Fallon that the show's fifth season takes place seven years after the events of season four meaning Archie and the gang will no longer be high school students.
The release date for Riverdale's next season is still to be determined.
