People are paying tribute to actor Max Von Sydow's role in Canadian classic Strange Brew

Max Von Sydow might have appeared in the likes of Star Wars and Game of Thrones, but people are remembering the Swedish actor for an unexpected film: Canadian cult classic Strange Brew.

The 90-year-old actor — who passed away on Sunday — played the evil Brewmeister Smith in the Hamlet-inspired film, which was shot across Ontario and parts of B.C.

Von Sydow famously agreed to take on the role after learning that his son was a fan of the script.

Although the '80s film has a relatively small following, loyal fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate Von Sydow's role.

This man took a jab at NBC for forgetting to include the role in their recap of Von Sydow's career.

And this man couldn't resist quoting Brewmeister's most iconic line.

This reporter just couldn't stop thinking about Brewmeister Smith.

Although it seems that Von Sydow stopped thinking about Brewmeister a long time ago.

Max Von Sydow starred in over 100 films, including Flash Gordon, The Seventh Seal, Shutter Island, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and Robin Hood.

The actor's final film — Echoes of the Past — has yet to announce an official release date.
