Baby zebra playing in the snow in Canada is melting hearts across the internet
It's not every day that you get to see a newborn African equid prancing around in a field of snow.
Fortunately for the people of Twitter, today is one of those days.
The Calgary Zoo just released a series of near-painfully adorable photos to celebrate the birth of their newest baby, a Hartmann's zebra colt.
"Mom, Leba, gave birth to a healthy male foal on the evening of Dec. 1," wrote the Zoo on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
"Both mom and baby are bonding well and settling in together. Catch a glimpse of them outside in their African Savannah habitat — stop by to say hello!"
Just look at those majestic stripes! That cute little mohawk! That brilliant colouring!
The birth marks another success for the Calgary Zoo in its wildlife rehabilitation efforts, as Hartmann's zebras are listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
This colt has yet to be named, but fans of the zoo are already giving their input online
"Congrats Leba! Your boy is so cute!" wrote one in response to the birth announcement. "So Calgary Zoo keepers, can you please please pick some names for us to vote on?! That would be a lot of fun!"
"We promise NOT to name him 'Boaty McBoatface' unless it is one of the choices!"
